Exploration of alternative firing techniques such as Raku firing, and surface decorations such as wax, decals and using underglaze pencils and stencils is an ongoing part of this course.

Each project will be started with an art historical reference and a three-dimensional design principle and two to three art elements, and students will create a detailed plan.
