This introductory course introduces students to both Functional and Sculptural forms of ceramics:

• Handbuilding

  • Tiles​

  • Boxes

  • Slab Containers

  • Coil Pots

• Hollow Sculpture

  • Busts​/reductive sculpting

  • Pinch pots

• Wheel Throwing

  • Introduction to the Potters Wheel​

  • Basic Bowls, Cups and Plates

Students continue creating using the 3-D Design Principles and Art Elements and hone their reflection and presentation and critique skills.  Artwork may be selected for local and state student art competitions.
